In September 1984, the city’s first real ice cream parlour opened just North and East of downtown Minneapolis. Three brothers with an idea to concoct the very best ice cream flavors, were behind the, then called Fratelli’s, shop. At its core was the desire to bring something great to the Twin Cities.

The demand for the highest quality ice cream grew and soon the three brothers opened up shop in Linden Hills and on the corner of Franklin and Hennepin. Sebastian Joe’s, named after the patriarch of the family who came to America from Italy in 1920, has established itself as a brand known for quality, style, absolute deliciousness and authenticity.

Over its thirty-two year history, Sebastian Joe’s has stayed a small, independent and family-run business that continues to bring the very best and quality ice cream, coffee, cones and treats & baked goods to the young and young-at-heart alike. On any given day, on a corner in South Minneapolis, you will find dozens of daring flavors to taste, something brewed and something freshly baked.
